The best selection of italian groceries! The cheeses and cold meats are second to none and so fresh. Sometimes there is a wait but get your number for deli when you arrive and shop the groceries while you wait to be called and its not as painful.
Greatest IGA ever, Lamonica IGAhas an incredible variety of products. It has the best Italian product range. Everything one could buy if they were shopping in Italy.
Heaps of amazingly tasty salami, cheese, pasta, sauces, olives, gelato and so much more. There is a fruit and veggie section too.
If you are an Italian food lover, Lamonica IGA has everything you need, you must visit.
The staff are Italian, so you can chat in Italian if you like. They are knowledgeable and friendly. They help you find exactly what you are after. The odd taste test helps you find that perfect cheese or salami.
Bring your bags and have a gourmet experience.
I've moved around Sydney several times, but I remain loyal to this IGA like no other, which has the widest variety of Italian charcuterie and cheeses. Most of the staff are also of Italian origin, which adds to the charm of the place.
One point for improvement is that the waiting time is sometimes excessive, discouraging some customers.
A special mention for Carmelita, for her professionalism and great kindness.
I do like this IGA. Fabulous deli. Take a ticket, be patient.. It's worth the wait. Super fresh produce and extensive range, including cheeses. Veggies are fresh. Every pasta you would like. Caters very nicely to the Italian population. Also close to a great bread shop and butcher
Lamonica IGA is one of the best Italian supermarkets in Sydney. The cold meats and cheeses on offer in their deli is extensive. The friendly staff are very knowledgeable and are happy to give you samples of the cold meats, cheeses and antipasti items to try before you buy. The butcher section is good, and there is a large selection of Italian groceries. I mainly shop here for the deli items, but usually pick up other groceries while I’m there.
Friendly staff, good selection of continental goods but the best part is the olive bar and cured meat selection. My go to place for spicy salami, prosciutto and mortadella.
Everything a thriving little community needs. The focus is on Italian goods..pasta/cheese/butcher/fruit and veges/supermarket goods. Take a number at the deli counter and the staff will slice your meats and cheeses for you.
Worst deli customer service, waited for 20 mins for lady in-front of me to finish ordering just to find out theirs a ticket ordering system. No where was there a sign saying that you need a ticket to be served and the ticket machine itself was hidden in a middle aisle between food, now where need the ordering counter and there’s no big tv to indicate what ticket order number like service NSW but the weighing machines only flash the number briefly when called.
Wasted my time and for deli pricing that is way more expensive then any coles or Woolworth supermarket which actually provides better service (first coke first serve) if your customer is waiting infront of the deli then either serve them or advice them of the process. The hidden ticket system makes it seem that this iga only cares about the community and the regular shoppers only ignoring all those new to community or passing shoppers.
Never again will I shop here unless it’s an emergency, this iga does not deserve support when they make everything seem meaningless to customer.
